Sorry, its been a day or so without a post – work has been brutal lately (at the day job). Anyways, we’re back on track with my weekly Wednesday question. So given that – I have a nice relevant question this week…What do YOU do for a living?
It could be a tax attorney, brick layer, lawyer, forensic anthropologist, shoe maker, burger flipper, mechanic or advertising executive. What ever it is – tell us! I love to know all the people out there who have risen above the seriously flawed nutritional environment of the day – and what they do in this world (if anything – we don’t judge)…
I think one of the biggest stumbling blocks that we all face is the concept of time versus results. While a low-carb diet is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways to lose weight, eventually you will find yourself in the “steady loss” territory. I define “steady loss”, as, well… just that. A time when you are still LOSING weight – but no where near the speed at which you were during the first month or so. I’m talking a pound or two a week.
What can you do when you hit a your “steady loss” territory?
Happy Friday once again! I’m crossing the streams here with a bit of blog / twitter melding today. You’ve heard of this Twitter thing, I’m sure. All the “kids” are doing it these days – and its way more useful than just finding out what Lars Ulrich had for breakfast this morning.
Just for a change of pace this Friday, here’s 5 quick low-carb / primal / zero-carb people to add to your list – well, besides ME that is (tee hee). Have some to add to the mix? Well, you know the drill – drop us a line!
Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to do a quick 3 shot “link love” fest on a couple unrelated (but relevant) things. Hope everyone had a sweet week, and is looking forward to an all-star weekend.
Hah, that sounds so lame and funny to me for some reason…
“I’m gonna have an all-star weekend! Someone give me [...]
Here’s an interesting one. Its exactly what the title says – simple rudimentary rules to lose weight the low-carb way. Its quick and effective (assuming you can actually READ it, the use of computers has pretty much destroyed human handwriting).
Does it answer every question? Hell no. Its chicken-scratches on a piece of sketch paper. It’ll probably bring up more questions than it answers. But I’ll tell you what it IS…
I took a long walk on a local bike path yesterday afternoon. It was a BEAUTIFUL day here in Albany, New York and I was out to waste as much of it being outside as possible (I only wish I had a brought a fishing pole along, maybe next time). I also broke out the new FlipCam Ultra HD and took some interesting and random footage – mostly just testing the cam and out seeing what it is capable of (and very NOT capable of).
But I noticed a trend that upsets me on several levels…
So… last night spent a good deal of time writing a plug-in to display nutrition data (aka carbohydrate, fiber, and protein counts) on the site in an easy and straight-forward way. I’m a programmer, so its not really hard, just time consuming and tedious. So, I started from scratch and imported a database from the (unnecessarily complex) USDA data sets, built a small front-end, and worked it into the site…
Some people argue that eating a quality low-carb diet is more expensive than “regular people food”. Now while its true that you can’t exactly fill up your freezer with $30 worth of frozen pizzas and call it a weeks-worth like “regular” people might do, but it is very possible to keep the cost low and maybe even come in a little BELOW what you were spending on carbohydrate loaded processed crap-food.
Here are a few easy tips to make the most out of your shopping trips, while holding the low-carb torch held high.
I just came across this gem on YouTube and just HAD to pass it along. Its a clip from the final Rocky movie called (obviously) Rocky Balboa – which was a decent enough movie, but this has to be the best part in the whole thing.
Its a great little moving / inspirational speech Rocky gives to his son. Pass it along to the people in your life who don’t give themselves enough credit for where they are and even WHO they are.
Today, Tim Ferris announced (via his twitter stream and blog) that his next book will be (tentatively titled – we hope) titled ‘From Rapid Fat Loss to Strongmen – A Guide to Becoming Superhuman’. Apparently, its something that he’s been working on for the last couple of years and researching on himself for even longer.
I’m just excited to read how he takes his particular brand of “lifestyle methodology” and apply it to fitness and nutrition…
